Why do writing artists not get recognition for their efforts whilst booksellers thrive on selling them?

Thought came to me today in a similar way that ‘the chicken and the egg’ problem began occurring.
If man is thief he maintains his livestock then surely he should be well off selling his wares.
Though when writers write an article only the masses get better off - the writer gets to meet Mr. Deprivation and is living a ‘close to destitution and rough-life’ writing those items that can better life itself. Likewise writers do not get recognition - the book seller does - so what’s up?
