Outkast, Young Jeezy And More…
Fanslooking for a musicoutput from Andre 3000 can rejoice, as partner-in-rhyme Big Boi revealedthat Dre was in the studio with Young Jeezy.
“I’m in a class by myself,” said Big Boi on Renada Romain’s Ear Candy Morning Interview when asked where he fits in with artists such as T.I., Gucci Mane, Ludacris and Jeezy “It’s Outkast, baby. I fit into my own category…I dig all of those guys. T.I.’s on my album. Gucci Mane’s on my album. Dre just did a song with Jeezy. So it’s a whole ‘nother class.”
On the album artwork for Capone-N-Noreaga’s 1997 album, The War Report, the album artwork features a photograph of the duo’s posse, with one member as a silhouette marked “traitor.” Thirteen years afterwards, N.O.R.E. has provided the back story behind the “traitor” in an interview with RapRadar.com.
“Obviously, you can’t really control the environment where you take your pictures. If we say, ‘Take a picture right now,’ I can’t say, ‘Everybody come in but the speaker – you stay over there,’” explained N.O.R.E.
“This guy got in the picture…we had speculation that he was a rat…but the week after that, the whole hood got raided. They raided everybody, and his name was actually on the paperwork this time. So I’ll be damned if I included him on the artwork.”
We’ve been informed that Kid Cudi will appear in Conver’s new campaign, entitled “You’re it.”
TheBoomBox.com has let us know that, the Converse has selected 23 artists to appear in biographical online video shorts showing their daily lives.
For his short, featured below, Cudi explores his hometown of Cleveland, Ohio, and discusses how he came to record music.
“My boy Fred, he made beats, so I remember the first question was like, ‘What should I rap about?’ He was like, ‘Man, rap about what you do. Like, you go to school, rap about that … ‘ He had a little tape deck recorder and I rapped on it. First time hearing my voice, I remember being like ‘That’s dope as hell. That’s my voice!’”
