Article Marketing Is An Effective Way For Driving Long Lasting Traffic To Your Site Or Blog

Thursday, February 26th, 2009
Matthew Henderson asked:

Article marketing is an awesome way to provide content for sales letters, squeeze pages and blogs. To have enough content to get regular traffic you should spend time every month writing new articles. Eventually, you should have your articles scattered across the web, giving you hundreds of chances to get traffic to your site.

Article marketing is one of the greatest ways to get traffic on the internet and it is one of the few ways to get free traffic. Another reason you should be using article marketing strategies to market your website is that it will provide lasting traffic for a long time to come.

Article marketing and writing articles is also a great way for you to establish yourself as an expert or an authority in your field or niche.

There are a few things to consider when writing your articles.

Article Marketing Strategy Guidelines:

1. An article should be somewhere in the neighborhood of 400 to 800 words long.

2. Each article should be written or focused around one specific keyword phrase.

3. The keyword phrase should be used in the headline, the first and last paragraph and then just normally throughout the article as it makes sense.

4. Keyword density should be around 2% of your total words used in your article.

There are plenty of free tools available online that will tell you your keyword density within your article. If you find your density is too low, add keywords where you can without making the article sound weird. You can also edit out some of the text which will raise the keyword density.

If your articles keyword density is too high, then you will need to remove some of your keywords, write more text, or find different ways to say the same thing such as using the keyword “internet marketing” instead of “affiliate marketing”.

5. Submit your articles to the most popular article marketing directories.

6. Post your articles on your blog or site.

7. You should always include a link back to your site or product within the signature or resource box at article marketing directories.

Getting Ideas For Articles:

1. One of the first things I suggest you do is to use a keyword research tool such as the Google AdWords keyword tool, Wordtracker or SEObook and type in one of your niche keyword phrases.

This let’s you see what people are actually typing in and searching for on a regular basis. The reason for this is because you don’t want to be wasting your time writing an article about something that no one is interested in.

You can then write articles about any or all of those keyword phrases.

2. Check out discussion forums. What are people talking about?

3. Look at http://Amazon.com for popular books/sellers.

4. Watch the news and read the newspaper. What is happening in the world that gets brought up over and over?

5. Go to article marketing directories such as http://ezinearticles.com, http://isnare.com, http://goarticles.com and others to see what other people in your niche are writing about.

6. Perform a search at Google for some of your niche related keywords and see what results come up and to see what others are writing about.

Writing Your Articles:

Whether the article marketing guidelines above make sense or not, the biggest thing you need to focus on is moving forward.

The way to do that is to choose a specific keyword phrase to write your article about.

Make the article at somewhere between 400-700 words.

Use the main keyword phrase:

- In your title

- Your first paragraph

- Your last paragraph

- Where ever else you can for it to sound natural.

How Many Articles Should I Write?

The thing with articles are, with effective article marketing you need to continue to write articles on a regular basis. So what I’m saying here is not to write an article, post it, and then wait a month to write another article. Try writing 1 article per day, or at least a couple or so per week and post them as mentioned above.

The more articles you distribute, the more chances for people to find your articles and be directed to your site. Article marketing is an effective way to drive traffic to your web page. Remember, the greater the number of people seeing your site, the greater chance you have of selling your product or service.

Writing Articles, I Need Traffic.,so Do You!

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Felton Thompkins asked:

Being an Internet Marketer, that is if you are an Internet Marketer and you are reading this, I am sure you have, just as I have, been exposed to all kinds of offers and solutions to generate a constant flow of traffic to your website or affiliate program. Some of those offers have been tremendous, yet out of your allowed budget. Some have just been too time-consuming and confusing. Others are not worth the click of your mouse.

Writing articles and having relevant article content that points back to your website or programs is by far one way, if not the best way, to generate a constant flow of traffic to your website or affiliate programs. Not only will writing articles and having relevant article content boost your traffic, it will also cause you to get listed on the best search engines - free of charge!

Here are a few suggestions on how to design your articles to best reach and satisfy the targeted audience of your choice.

(1) Keywords: Keywords are very important to your article, and this is something you should be conscious of as you write your articles. I have found that writing articles and being keyword conscious works hand-in-hand. So make a list of keywords for your article and use them throughout your writing.

(2) Keyword Density: Keyword density is having your keywords or keyword phrases strategically placed throughout your article. Be sure that you dont use your keywords or keyword phrases too much, or the search spider will consider it as spamming and kick it out. Also make sure you don’t use them too little or the search spider will consider it not relevant.

Keywords and keyword density is widely overlooked by many. It is said that 85% of prospective traffickers use search engines to find what they are looking for on the internet. They are doing this by typing in keywords and keyword phrases and this means potential traffic for you and me if we are key-word conscious when writing our articles.

(3) Good Article Content: Good article content will surely cause you to have a boost in traffic to your website or affiliate program. A good article will be entertaining, it will provide relevant information, and will assist in meeting the needs of the readers. Here’s a little side note: People have a tendency to respond very well to facts, figures, and statistics, so try giving a few whenever possible.

(4) Resource Box: Your resource box is also very important, even more so than writing a good article. The resource box is what makes your article complete, it’s like having a permanent advertisement placed in the classifieds. When writing your resource box be sure to make it relevant to your website or your program. This is how most of your traffic will be directed from your articles to your website or affiliate program.

Your resource box should include: (a) A nice catchy or relevant phrase. (b) Your Name (c) Your Website or affiliate URL, and other contact information.

I want traffic…, what about you? Sure you do. Well, there’s nothing like the present to start getting your share of quality traffic. Start writing and have fun!! Need help getting started? we can help at: www.simplyeshop.com

Article Marketing is an Advertising World

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Navinder deep singh bachhal asked:

A marketing article is much, much different from a normal article. You may be a good article writer, or you may have had great experience writing essays and theses, for more help visit to: www.ezines-marketing-magic.com.but, sorry to say, that will not count in the field of article marketing.

This is an advertising world, where the marketing article is nothing but a tool for promotion. As such, the marketing article follows a very different kind of structure and syntax from articles written solely for the purpose of publication.

In order to be a good writer for writing marketing articles, there are more than a few points to be kept in mind. Experience of course matters a lot; you become a better writer as you write more and more articles.

An experienced writer can add that punch to any article to convert it to a marketing article. These are some of the things that can make an article into a marketing article:-

(I) check for the keyword occurrence in the article. Your article must focus on the keyword. For more detail go to: www.instant-marketing-articles.com.You can get a list of much-used keywords from sites such as Overture. Once you get a popular keyword suited to your article, blend it within the article.

You may have to rewrite certain sentences so that the keyword appears in them. Keep the keyword density at about 3 to 5%. That means, if you are writing an article of 400 words, it is enough if the keyword appears four to five times in it.

You must remember that the average Internet user is an impatient person, and does not spend more than thirty seconds reading articles. However, if there is something that grabs their attention, they might read on.

You can do this by putting some very interesting facts and figures in the first paragraph itself. There must be some pointed questions asked, for which the reader would want to know answers.

Make the article easy to read. The stuff used for article marketing is not literature; it is normal everyday stuff that people want to know. Marketing articles are not for providing knowledge; they are for giving information. Keep this tone constant in your article. Use bulleted lists and headings where possible.

Divide your articles into paragraphs, each carrying at least one interesting point.

The title of the article must be extremely catchy and must have the keyword in it. The keyword will ensure that the article comes up on the search engine, and the catchy title will ensure that the visitor will open the link.

Finally, you will have to write the author’s bio and give a link to the website. This part is also important, because most visitors who have read through the article will certainly contemplate for a few seconds whether to visit the author’s site or not.

If the author is projected as an expert in the field, there are more chances of a visit. And, of course, use all the hyperlinks properly in the back link, or they will misguide the visitor.

There is certainly much more to writing a good marketing article, but this ought to be enough to get you started. Begin writing, because each article you write will be part of a growing-up process.

How to Run a Successful Article Directory

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009
Gen Wright asked:

e directory is like an other website. It serves a specific function, and it’s the owner’s responsibility to figure out a plan to make it work. An article directory that’s not functioning correctly may have a home page like a ghost town. Few visitors, few articles, very few activities, with only a handful of authors.

I can tell whether an article directory can be around in the long run or not just be looking at the home page. In the course of my business, I visit hundreds of article directories and after some time, some patterns are emerging. Everyone can run an article directory. Use a free script like articledashboard, host it on a shared hosting account, and yet another article directory is born. But to make the directory into a successful one takes time and effort.

First, understand the audience that you’ll be dealing with if you’re going to own an article directory. There are basically two groups: the readers, and the publishers. Without content, there wouldn’t be readers, so start promoting your new directory by getting authors to submit content. That’s a challenge if the site is new because publishers want traffic when they submit articles, and a new site has no traffic. So why would they want to submit?

If you understand that, you know what you must do. First and foremost, promote your own article directory heavily. Do a lot of article marketing to get the traffic in. Target the publishers in the initial stages. If they read an article written by you, chances are, they already know that you’re actively promoting the directory and will be more likely to submit articles.

Once you have people coming to your site to submit articles, treat them like VIPs! Approve their articles if they meet your guidelines as quickly as you can to show that the site is active. Make sure that the articles meet your quality guidelines. Don’t fall into the trap of accepting poorly written articles just because the site is new. If you do that, you’ll face more problems down the road.

And your problems will be from the readers who come to your site for the articles. They make a search in the search engines, find the title interesting and click through to your site, only to be disappointed with a poorly written article. Chances are, you’ve lost that visitor forever because it’s going to be hard trying to get the visitor to come back due to the first poor experience.

Some visitors are webmasters or publishers looking for reprint content. If your site offers poor quality content, they’ll move on and not reprint the content from your site. This, again, will affect your site adversely.

Finally, make sure that your article directory has RSS feeds that are well syndicated. This means that any author who has an accepted article will have his or her article syndicated to many other websites. More exposure will make the authors very happy, and they’ll come back again and again to submit more quality articles. Your article directory is on a roll!

That’s how you can build a successful article directory. Once you have done a good job, how you want to monetize the traffic is up to you.

Why You Should Use Article Directories to Promote Your Website

Sunday, February 22nd, 2009
Jay Gaulard asked:

If you are online and are not already using article directories to promote your website, you are missing out on a free and highly effective marketing option. Article directories are great ways to draw traffic to your site without paying for advertising. However, to get real traffic to your site using an article directory, you must know how to use them correctly.

What Article Directories Are

Before you can use an article directory, you have to know what one is. Article directories are websites where thousands upon thousands of articles on just about any subject are posted. They are generally categorized to make it easier for readers to find information they want. They are also linked together, so a reader reading about “Hawaii travel” will naturally go from article to article on that topic. People can use the articles they find in the directories on their own websites, either for free or for a small fee. Authors pay nothing to submit to article directories.

How Article Directories Benefit Online Businesses

You are probably thinking, “Sure, that’s great. But how does an article directory help me promote my business? Doesn’t giving away free content defeat my purpose as an online business?”

These are great questions. When you submit an article to an article directory, it will contain a bio with a link to your website. Since you are the author of the article, you are allowed to include this information.

This means that anyone who is searching online and comes across the article directory will see a link to your site. Not only that, but the people who use the content on their own websites are required to keep it exactly as it appears in the directory. This means that your link could show up on hundreds of websites.

Article directories are generally large websites. This means that the web spiders are attracted to them. Having your link on these articles is a crucial part of an online linking campaign.

How to Make Your Submissions Effective

If you are going to submit to article directories, you need to do two things. First, you need to learn about proper keyword usage. You need the right percentage of keywords in your article, and they need to appear naturally within the content. This will draw the search engine spiders to the article, thus exposing people to your link at the bottom.

You also need to make your content unique and helpful. If your article is the same as thousands that are already online, other website owners will not want to use it. Also, if the information is not helpful, people will not read the entire article. Your goal is to have them read the entire article so that they will click at the link on the bottom.

Having helpful information in the article also helps the reader view you as an “expert” in the field. This is important, because you want them to have a reason to click on the link. If they are reading useless information, they will have no desire to visit your site. Also, proving that you are knowledgeable about a particular topic will show that whatever product or service you are marketing is worth buying.

What to Do if You Can’t Write

At this point you are probably wondering what you can do because you can’t write. You are an entrepreneur and business owner, not a writer. The good news is that you have options.

You can hire a freelance writer to “ghostwrite” the article for you. Ghostwriting means writing the article in your name. Instead of placing his or her name on the article, the freelancer uses your name and your business link. You will need to pay for this service, but the amount you will pay for a quality article is far less than the amount you would pay for an advertising campaign, and a well-written article placed in the right article directories will draw more traffic to your site than just about any other form of advertising.

Where can you find ghostwriters? There are a variety of online classifieds where you can post your job requirements or search for available writers. You can ask for quotes to help you learn what the going rate for a writer is. Keep in mind that you will pay more if you have detailed information that needs to be researched or if you are working on a tight deadline. You can also hire a content creation company to help you if you require numerous articles that would be too much for one individual writer.

If you do use a ghostwriter, be sure that you proofread the article before submitting it. You may find that the writer did not approach a particular topic as you would have wanted. You can ask the writer to rewrite the material, but posting something that is inaccurate or does not sound well written will detract from your goal of drawing traffic to your site.

Risks of Using an Article Directory

There is only one main risk to using an article directory, and that is that someone will download your content and use it on their site without including the link. You can do some work on your own to check for this, but it is hard to police. However, the occasional unscrupulous website owner who uses your content incorrectly is a risk worth taking for the many users who will give you a link on their site.

Post Much and Often

Once you get the hang of using an article directory, post many articles, and post them often. The more fresh, relevant content that links to your page, the more traffic you will receive. Be sure to continually research your keywords, because the keywords that people search for constantly change.

Also, submit your articles to a variety of sites. The most popular article directories may not draw certain demographic of people. The more places that have your article and your link, the better your traffic results will be. Since these sites are free to use, you might as well submit to as many as you can.

Discover the Secrets of Article Marketing

Saturday, February 21st, 2009
renudec2008 asked:

Successful article marketing hinges on the titles of articles. Everyday, countless authors are wasting their time writing and posting articles when they have no idea of how to make article marketing work. Authors and internet marketers are making a huge mistake by not paying attention to the article title - a few words with immeasurable impact.

Article marketing cannot reach your targeted audience and market with a lousy title. What happens online reflects what happening offline is. When you go to the bookstore to buy a book, you would look first at the title. People simply have the tendency to make a judgment on the entire book from just the title. The title is powerful enough to convince them to buy the book or to brush it away. For more help login to www.internet-copycatting.com. Through article marketing, people find your article either at the article directories or through search engines. Authors and internet marketers naturally prefer visitors to come from the search engines. The visitors are targeted and have a higher tendency to become our customers. After all, they have searched specifically for certain keywords and your article shows up in the search results. But it does not stop there. Your article title must be attractive and relevant enough to entice them to click through and read.

As you can see, you have two objectives to achieve in article marketing. One is to make your article rank high in search engine prominence, and another to make it relevant and enticing for your potential customers.

How should you tackle this?

Search engines look for relevancy and correlation of article content with title. Your article content should be keyword-rich, and it is a must that your article contains at least the main keyword, if not a main and a secondary keyword. Another trick to rank higher in the search engine is to place your main keyword at the start of the title. For more information login to www.effective-contents.com. Positioning makes a difference. Article marketing and search engine optimization are intertwined. Treat your article just like you would optimize your web page.

In order to get a top search engine ranking and maximize your organic traffic, your selection of keywords is crucial. Perform keyword research using free keyword research tools like Overture Keyword Tool and trial version of Word Tracker. Compile a list of 3 to 5 relevant keywords that have at least 500 searches per month. Do a search in Google for each keyword in quotes, for example Article Marketing Tips. If the results are lower than 2000, you should be able to rank well. Keyword research is vital to article marketing.

Keep your article title short. 4 6 words are ideal. Avoid unnecessary filler words that can confuse the search engines. Use shorter phrases that deliver the same meaning.

By targeting specific keywords in your article title, you have enhanced the effect of your article marketing. When your article shows up in the search results, your visitors will see the keywords they searched for. This is relevance at play.

There are tips to entice them to click. Think from a problem solution approach. Are they looking for an answer to a problem? Are they searching for reviews? Are they trying to learn something new? Words like How To, Guide, Review and more are powerful words for article titles. Use them wisely in your article marketing efforts.

These article marketing tips are simple but powerful. If you are hungry for more, read my blog to learn the secrets of article marketing and how you can drive tons of buying traffic daily to your website
